Thank you!

Sometimes, saying thank you doesn’t seem like enough.
But I can’t think of anything else to say to all of you other than that. I’m still so new to this blogging thing. In fact, I’m so new that I haven’t reached the minimum required 3 months of blogging to be able to join the Top Mommy Blog site that I’m desperate to get involved with. That day will come,  I promise. But until then, I have this to warm my heart with:

HOLY CRAP!

HOLY CRAP!

You all rock my world.

That’s all I can say about that. 🙂

Question to fellow bloggers: Is it too soon?

3ox9vw

I had someone ask me the other day, if my blog had it’s own Facebook page and Twitter account yet. My first thought was: “Really? Should I have one of those already?!”

Then I started to think. I really do want to grow my blog, and I wonder if this would be a good way to do so…
What do you all think? Is it too soon to be worrying about such things, or is it the norm and I’m falling behind with the times?

Do you all have Facebook pages and Twitter accounts for your blog? Would anyone of you even bother following or liking either of those pages if I created one?
Just doing some “market research” if you would. 🙂

Let’s play a game!

So next week I will be going on a mini-vacation to visit my future mother in law in a tiny tiny little town. It is a beautiful place, and her backyard is right where a gorgeous river meets the ocean. We will be a two minute walk from a beach, will be able to go canoeing, digging for clams, lounge in the sand, all in a place that is super secluded. We’ll be lucky if we see one car go by every few hours.

I’m actually pretty excited about it! Fair warning though, you may or may not hear from me from Wednesday through Sunday next week (depending on the internet connection there and whether or not I want to give up valuable beach-bum time).

So in the meantime, to celebrate me having 121 crazy followers (when did that happen!?!?) I thought we could play a “get to know me” kind of game.

So here’s what I’m thinking. The first 10-15 people to ask me any question, I will do my best to answer honestly. This could either be a very good idea, or a very very bad one, so be kind please!

comment a question

Some ideas to get the ball rolling: It could be anything about parenting, myself personally, my views on a topic, etc.

Just leave a comment on the bottom of this post, and I’ll reply with the best I have to offer.

(Hoping I didn’t set myself up here lol).

Wonderful Team Membership Award

I’m FINALLY getting around to saying a huge thank you to scottishmomus for nominating me for this lovely award! She’s a lovely woman, who writes beautiful poetic posts, and I truly enjoy reading them – though I secretly don’t know whether to thank her, or smack her for assigning me the homework that goes along with it. 😉

In all seriousness, if you love creative writing, and illustrative descriptions, you’ll love her posts. Check her out! http://scottishmomus.wordpress.com/

As much as I am humbled, grateful, and shocked by award nominations (which in turn means people are actually reading my blog), I would be lying if I said that it didn’t inflate my ego a little bit. I mean hey, who doesn’t like acknowledgement? It still seems so crazy to me that I’ve been at this less than a month, and have over 100 followers. Either I’m doing alright at this, or you’re all a little nuts! 😉

So I’m left with homework, which include forwarding on this nomination to other bloggers who I enjoy reading. (Sorry to those I nominate – I’m passing along the homework to you! hehe).

I find it so hard to think of only a small amount of blogs. I hate feeling like I exclude people whose blogs I really enjoy reading. The picking and choosing is so difficult! I hope you enjoy my choices, and get a few good reads out of it! 🙂

There you have it!
I hope I’ve followed the homework correctly, because while I may look like I know what I’m doing, it’s all a facade.

WordPress Family Award.

Another award? Really? I hope people don’t soon clue in to the fact that I’m an imposter. An imposter who pretends she knows what she’s doing and what she’s talking about, but really has no sweet clue.

I started this blog as a way to get back into writing. Just a small little place to vent, share my inflated opinions, and have a laugh. I never imagined that anyone (let alone so many!) would actually read it or follow it. But in the less than 4 weeks I’ve been doing this, I already have made what I would call, for less of better terminology, friends. Little blogging friends/family. Strange how this works. How your words can help you form connections with people.

Which is why this award means a lot. The lovely Miss Fanny P, the namesake of The Adventures of Fanny P ( http://missfannyp.wordpress.com/ ) nominated me for this award. She’s honest, true, and spills her heart about things we can all relate to – family, and the love of our kids. Please go check out her blog. I’ve enjoyed following her the short time I’ve been a part of this community.

Though I must say, it alludes me as to why I was nominated. She so kindheartedly explained that she nominated people who left comments on a certain post that left her feeling warm, supported, and loved. A kind comment, I did leave. But should we not all be kind to one another all the time? While I certainly appreciate (and accept) the nomination, I would hope that such kindness is the norm and doesn’t require recognition.

So to pass this one along. The award speaks of family, and I can think of two blogs in particular that are all about family – he ups and downs, the challenges, the hilarity, etc. I hope that these two bloggers will accept, and can’t wait to keep reading all about them.

http://lynncollins10.wordpress.com/  – This lady is honest to a fault, just like me, about all aspects of her life. She’s got opinions, she’s got challenges, she’s got a real life that is nice to read about.

http://modernmanofthecloth.com/  – From what I’ve read so far, super Dad would be an understatement. His topics are varied, and wonderful. Give him a peek!

Thanks so much again.
I have to figure out what to do with these things. Where do you guys put these awards? I’m such a newbie, I never put thought into this.

My first ever guest post!

I’m only 3.5 weeks into this blogging thing, and I’ve already got my first guest post up.

I’m so grateful to Valerie at Atlanta Mom of Three for the chance to do a guest post on her blog, and was surprised when she said she liked what I’d written. I mean, one look at her blog and you can tell that she really knows what she’s doing. She’s what I look up to in a blogger.

The guest post is all about my birth story with sweet little L (aka the toddler whose life I ruin).

So if you have a moment, please head on over to her blog, check out my guest post, and take a peek at all the other wonderful posts she has made.
