About

You know those Mom’s. The ones who are always ‘Aww life is perfect. My kid is always perfect. Everything is perfect’. I call BS on that one.

I mean hey, I love being a Mom, but I’m not about to be all Stepford wife about it. Life gets hard. Things are funny, and weird, and smelly, and droopy, and not the way they used to be. Who needs to read about perfection, anyway!

I’m a 30-something mom who is a not-so-skinny, not-so-perfect chocolate hoarder. I run myself thin and fall asleep on the couch more often than I can count. I can’t remember the last time I peed alone since my kid could walk. I make mistakes, I take shortcuts, I swear more than I should  (No I swear, my kid is actually trying to say “Truck”, not that rhyming curse word… Shit.) I live for that kid of mine, and she’s by far my best accomplishment. But hell, sometimes you just need a break, right?! Where’s the chocolate…

  1. Your Blog is Fucking amazing, I am you, with a 24 month old and a 5 month old, I can’t tell you when I have ever laughed this hard in a long time. Thank you so much,
    ❤ your newest follower

    • OMFG seriously? I still find it hard to believe that people are actually reading this thing, let alone thinking I actually know what I’m doing!
Thank you so so much – you have no idea how incredibly flabbergasted I am at your nomination.
I’ve only been at this for three weeks, and honestly didn’t even know that blog awards existed!

  2. I can’t believe I did not read your blog when my kid was younger than she is now (9). I would have fallen into your arms sobbing.
Better late than never though ! Love this blog. And the sentiments. I love being a mom, but it is the one activity that makes my hair fall out in clumps.
Shall be following you for reality check in a world of perfect moms.

    • That is the sweetest comment ever – thank you so so much!
That is really what I’m hoping to be able to achieve. To have other mom’s be able to relate to the fact that they can’t be expected to be perfect little Leave it to Beaver Mama’s. It just isn’t feasible and it causes undue stress in our lives.
      Thank you so so much!
      xo

  3. I JUST came across your blog now, and honestly I sat here for 2 hours and read every single entry you have.
Two in particular caught my eye completely and had me absolutely glued to my screen while reading. “The Field Guide to Visiting a New, First Time Mom”, as well as, “So you just had a baby. Now what?”
I’m 5 months pregnant, and terrified of labour/motherhood.
While I was reading, some of the things absolutely scared the crap out of me, as well as eased my thoughts about a few things.
I just thought I would let you know. You should definitely post more often!
P.S. Any ideas on where I can get some blog help for being a single mom?
